[logback-user] SocketAppender

Hi all,
I have a question about the SocketAppender.
I understand that when the link to the server is down, clients trying write
to it will be blocked.
I was wondering if there's a way to prevent that.
In other words, what would be the best way to prevent client from being
block.
Is there a way to "see" that the link to the server is down and if it is
down
lets direct messages to say, local drive. (instead of remote)
Any suggestion? Ideas?
