[slf4j-user] compiling slfj4 -Test org.slf4j.VersionMi, smatchTest failed

Hello,

What is your set up? Where do you get the SLF4J sources? Is it from git? From an 
slf4j distribution? From your message, it seems that you get the sources from 
the 1.5.8 distribution.  If so, how are you trying to compile slf4j?

You have mentioned ant but not Maven. Are you using Maven?
