[slf4j-user] Will version 1.8 be released in future?

Hello there,

Thanks for sharing such a nice and trustworthy product for years!
I'm checking the latest activity in this project, but cannot find the
release plan
so please let me confirm one thing.

About version 1.8, we have 1.8.0-beta4 in the maven central [1].
However, the news page [2] says that we've released 1.8.0-beta5,
even though the JIRA [3] said that this version is unreleased.

I also checked that the Git repository [4] has no maintenance branch for
version 1.8.
We just have branches for 2.0 (master) and 1.7 (1.7-maintenance).

So I guess that SLF4J won't release version 1.8 anymore,
to focus on 1.7 maintenance and 2.0 development.
In other words, the plan to release 1.8 has been replaced with 2.0, to
introduce the fluent logging API.

Is my understanding correct?
I want to know this information, to judge which version I use in my
projects.

Thanks in advance!
Kengo TODA
