Just did a "svn up" and "mvn install" after having left it untouched 
since I reported the failure.  Unfortunately it still fails:

  basic(ch.qos.logback.classic.net.SyslogAppenderTest)
  tException(ch.qos.logback.classic.net.SyslogAppenderTest)

Tests run: 207, Failures: 2, Errors: 0, Skipped: 8
