[logback-user] logback, slf4j, frameworks, ...

I've got an application that, like many applications, uses spring, hibernate, and so on. I guess those frameworks don't use slf4j and/or logback under the hoods.

What are my options  if I want to start using slf4J and logback in my web application  given the above and the fact that I'll also have to use SizeAndTimeBasedFNATP appenders with file compression (gzip/zip) ?
