[slf4j-user] [slf4j][log4j] Turning off logs

Hi all,

I am using a java application server where logging has been done using
log4j. I added slf4j libraries into the classpath and started the
server.

But now I have a problem. The application server prints a whole lot of
log messages to the console and takes ages to load up. I edited
log4j.properties file to have the log level to be ERROR, but it is still
useless.

How can I control the large number of log messages? Or how can I
increase the log levels.

Any help is really appreciated.
